Best catfish and chicken fried steak in Texas! Excellent lunch and friendly staff. Glad we found it today!

I have only been there twice. I really think that the prices are great for the amount of food you receive. I love the homemade salsa! The staff are really nice! It was my birthday and my daughter had told the waitress at the table and the waitress didn't really respond but later on she brought me my slice of pie with a candle on it, singing happy birthday with other staff. It was really sweet!! My family and I are new to the area and that made me feel like this area is home now!! Way to go!! I will definitely be returning!!!

This place never disappoints!

Not like it use to be. Slow service, food was correct order wise except my steak. When i ordered a $19.00 steak I expected it to be a $19.00 steak. NOT SO. I've had better at a fast food place. It was not cooked med rare it was grey throughout smaller than a saucer and flavorless. So sad

The food is great, service is wonderful,I had the cheese burger and onion rings and brought half home, servings are plentiful,we love it there.

Very good. Had the 1/2 lb burger and tots. It was just a really good burger with real beef. Nice, rustic atmosphere.

Great down home cooking with a little flair to catch your eye. The wait staff is friendly and the food is very good. For the price of the meal you are going home full for sure.

Sidekicks in Emory is a great restaurant with a great menu of delicious food. Served by a speedy and eficiant staff you will not be disappointed here. If you are in Emory look up Sidekicks south 19 across from the post office. Enjoy.

It's okay but rather eat home cooked meals

Sidekicks is a great hometown restaurant! It has good food and good service with a cute country atmosphere. And to top it off they have affordable prices too!

Four of us went in for dinner last night. Three waitresses were at the front and we said hello. Only three other tables were filled. All three waitresses looked at us several times. We waited 25 minutes with no service. A skinny elderly lady who is always in there took a bus boy and one of the waitresses out for a smoke. Still leaving two waitresses. Still no service. Waited 5 more minutes and finally had enough and got up to leave. The other two waitresses looked at us and said nothing. Upon leaving the restaurant, circled the building, and the smokers looked directly at us. This place needs to close!!!

1st time there, and also first dining-in experience since March. Very good food, nice portions, great service. Very clean and tables were spaced away from each other pretty well. Will be returning.

Waitress came took our order and never returned. Someone else brought our food. I got our own refills. Our waitress was at the register doing tickets when we left. She never said anything about the horrible service.

I saw this place had some good reviews, and my fellow Google contributers never let me down. My 10 year old son and I shared a 1/2 pound bacon cheese burger with an order of chili cheese fries. Even halfed this was more food than we could eat. The burger was great and the fries we could have shared with at least one other person. My wife had the catfish platter it was pretty good. The catfish had a great seasoning to it. The home style fries and the hush puppies were excellent. That coleslaw was some of the best I've had. The only weak link for me was the beans. I was expecting a place like this to have some grade A beans, but I give em a C-. Almost seemed to me like water had been poured into them washing away the seasoning and any thickness you'd expect out of slow cooked beans. The staff was great. I would definitely stop at this place again if I'm in the area.

Good place, about the same as every other hole in the wall joint. Had the Texas Platter super greasy chopped steak was over cooked. Onion rings not bad. Will be back to try something else.

Can't beat their fried catfish and cheese burgers. The service is always friendly and my cup is never dry! We travel over an hour for their Friday catfish special.

The best prices, good food and quality service. If you're passing on by, make sure to stop on in for some home style cooking.

Waitstaff is always pleasant. Food ranges from really good to excellent. Love their catfish hogie. Coffee is good too. Lots of seating options for bigger parties.

Great food and great atmosphere!

We came for a late lunch and enjoyed it so much!My 2 year old couldn't get enough tator tots off his chicken tender plate! I had the grilled catfish with pintos, fried okra and slaw. Let me say, I am extremely picky about slaw and will not eat it if it's not fresh, and by gollie they have some of the freshest, crisp, slaw I've had in a good while! Everything fried was fresh and made to order. My partner had the chicken fried steak and said it was delicious. And the PECAN PIE (YUM). The price for 3, heck of a deal. Will be back!

Popular lunch place with the locals. Meal came with salad, beans, choice of potato (or onion rings) and roll. Was disappointed that they didn’t have baked potatoes or mashed as potato options for lunch. Chicken fried steak & gravy was PERFECT. Some of the onion rings were stuck together, batter was too thick and under seasoned. But... prices were good and we'd definitely stop here again!

Good burger and good chicken fried steak.

They serve hamburgers, salads, steak, chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, and some Mexican food. I had the chicken fried steak with gravy. It included three sides. I tried the okra, mashed potatoes, and salad. The food was good with generous portions. The atmosphere is casual. The service was kind of slow.

I love to eat at this place every time I visit family in Emory. I recently lost my aunt due to illness and family came from out of town. This place had plenty of room to accommodate us. We had breakfast there as a family 2 mornings in a row. Waitress and waiter were friendly and courteous. Food was awesome!

Service was amazing, food was plentiful, they really made you feel like home. Even my kids were asking how long we knew the waitress.(we never met her before). But we will be back.

Like other great reviews about this place, I tried the Chicken Fried Steak (Pork)...OMG...Delicious! I wish my schedule in this town allowed me to come here more than the one time...I wish I came HERE instead of the Local Boneyard BBQ. Service was great, food excellent...will definitely be back again, if I ever get the chance!. 5 Stars!

Wonderful food, portions, waitresses. Only concern I have is about coronavirus precautions Signs to wear masks but yet waitresses and staff don’t wear and of very few that do aren’t wearing properly with noses covered

Had the daily special of chicken fried steak. It came with three sides. I chose pinto beans, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. Everything was very good. Local place. Will go back.

This place has the best food. You also get a lot of food for the price. No matter what time of day you go in the food is always hot and fresh. We stop here at least once a month when we pass thru.

Their prices for just a plain grilled ham and cheese are 8.25 with nothing else. For 2 and 1 drink was 20.30. Never used to be that high

Delicious home style meal offerings.The chicken fingers and steak fingers dinners are large portions and flavorful!Onion rings and fries are both tasty, and the drinks are large and cold...perfect for this heat!!
